AIRCRAFT MECHANICS
Meet My Mentors!
Because my mentors possess such vast knowledge in my field of interest, I was able to take tons of information out of my time there. I think my time there was unique to most other mentorship fields. Most of the tasks I was involved in were all hands-on tasks and working directly with the aircraft. I learned the basic procedures behind inspections and why such frequent inspections are so important. I learned the legal liabilities behind being an aircraft. Everything I learned while with my mentors, I can take and use in my life as a pilot and prospective aircraft mechanic.

Paul Kyst
ATP, CFI, CFII, MEI, A&P, IA
Paul manages the maintenance team and keeps the Lanier Flight Center's fleet airborne. He joined Lanier Flight Center in February of 2011 and is a Licensed A&P Mechanic with an IA permit. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge when managing the fleet of aircraft at the Lanier Flight Center. When Paul is not doing that, he flies Boeing 777s for American Airlines. I have great admiration for Paul and his expertise when I work with him.

Jon Owens
CFI, CFII, MEI, A&P
Jon is an instrument-rated and multi-engine flight instructor and a graduate of NGCSU. A career aviator of many talents, Jon has served in the Marine Corps as a mechanic and earned his A&P license before arriving at the Lanier Flight Center. An admirably Christian man, I respect him highly and have great regard for his skill and expertise as a flight instructor and mechanic.

David Wardlaw
CFI, A&P in-training
Dave was an Army helicopter pilot before flying fixed-wing aircraft. He then worked is way up and became a certified flight instructor (CFI) in 2008. Dave is a professional CFI at Lanier Flight Center, but also works with me as an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic in-training.

Jeremy
CFI, A&P
Jeremy was in the Army and got his A&P certificate before making his wake to the Lanier Flight Center as a mechanic and working for his CFI license.
