​AIRCRAFT MECHANICS

Mechanics are some of the most important individuals in the aviation industry, ensuring that aircraft are in safe and working condition. One slip and the lives of the pilot and people on board are put at risk. I'm here to emphasize just how important aircraft mechanics are and what could happen and what has happened when maintenance is not performed to the standards the FAA has set.

 

In aviation, unlike automotive, everything all maintenance is done by the book and mechanics are legally responsible for everything they do. In automobiles, if a mechanic screws up and the engine fails, you can just pull over. In aviation, you can't just pull over to the side of the road if something goes wrong. You either find a nearby airport or start looking for an empty field to make an emergency landing.
